The shield still shows after I finished. What now?

First, check what the shield actually says

If the shield says "Today's reading is done" and only shows Emergency unlock, this is normal. It means the app already saw that you finished, and your open time for now has run out. See Why did my apps lock again after I finished? for why open time runs out.

When it is an actual problem

If the shield still asks you to read and pray after you already finished both, try this:

1. Close Spiritualrot completely
2. Open it again
3. Check the Today screen for your unlock state

Most of the time, reopening the app fixes a shield that did not update right away.

If that does not work

1. Check that you actually finished both the reading and the prayer, not just one of them
2. Check your iPhone's own Screen Time settings under Settings, Screen Time, to confirm nothing else is blocking the app

Restart your phone

If the shield still asks for unfinished work after reopening the app, restart your iPhone. This clears a stuck Screen Time state on Apple's side.
